Your whole family is about to be Blessed!

Your whole family is about to be blessed.

Claim it with faith.

There is something about knowing the true meaning of being blessed, that is very enriching.

Giving credit to God and His goodness has a way of seeping deep into our hearts.

It develops a great appreciation for our Creator that loves us, rather than crediting luck for a temporary moment of greatness that comes our way.

The true meaning of blessings goes far beyond living in a nice home, owning a closet full of beautiful clothes, and driving a really nice car. Psalm 32:1 speaks of one of the greatest blessings of all:

“Blessed is the one whose transgression is forgiven, whose sin is covered.”

Who else can remove our layers of shameful sin except Jesus? Where else can we go to be freed from guilt? There is no other place we can go to on Earth, or that we can approach in a spiritual realm, that can wash away our sins.

Only Jesus can do this for us!

Psalm 1:1-3 tells us of additional blessings, once we recognize the privilege of having been washed and set free from sin, and have surrendered our lives completely to our Savior:

“Blessed is the man who walks not in the counsel of the wicked, nor stands in the way of sinners, nor sits in the seat of scoffers, but his delight is in the law of the LORD, and on his law, he meditates day and night. He is like a tree planted by streams of water that yields its fruit in its season, and its leaf does not wither. In all that he does, he prospers.”

These few words from Psalms tell us the blessings of a righteous man’s actions, and that he prospers in life because of it. But, oh, the things we don’t see mentioned! So much heartache and misery are spared from our lives when we don’t allow ungodly advice to affect our decisions.

We never have regrets because we followed the advice of those who told us to seek revenge, or to do someone wrong, or to follow the whims of our hearts that are not like God.

Our minds stay at peace because we choose to turn away from sinful temptations or carnal pleasures that displease God.

When we lay our heads on our pillows each night, let us remember to thank God for the true blessings we have in our lives. Money cannot buy our health, our peace, and even our satisfaction in life. If we could speak to the many millionaires that have committed suicide, they would reaffirm this fact.

When we have these things, we are truly blessed.

The nice things in life can be considered blessings as well. However, if hard times come and we lose all of our material things, we are still blessed with the things that matter most.

Let’s make our next prayer time a time of additional gratitude for the many, many blessings we have in our lives every day. Our Savior deserves our appreciation, and it is always good for us to remember how blessed we truly are.

“He saved us, not because of works done by us in righteousness, but according to his own mercy…” Titus 3:5
